Welcome by Mayor Bostwick

Welcome to the City of Gladstone, Michigan!

Jay Bostwick - Mayor, City of Gladstone

I would like to welcome you to the City of Gladstone nestled on Little Bay De Noc off of beautiful Lake Michigan. Gladstone has a rich history dating back to 1887, founded by the Soo Line Railroad,
currently served by Canadian National Railroad.

Gladstone is known as "The Year Round Playground" because of its vast, beautiful  parks and abundance of year round activities. In the winter there is ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country and downhill skiing, snowboarding and tubing. The Ski Hill hosts downhill skiing, snowboarding and a tubing run with a tow rope. In the same location, the Sports Park facility can be rented year round for wedding receptions and other gatherings or parties large or small. It also has three baseball fields that host activities, tournaments and fun all summer long. Summertime at the Gladstone Beach and Van Cleve Park is the place to be for activities including a skate park, fishing pier with its own fish cleaning station, Kids Kingdom Playground, picnic areas and a beautiful beach house with hot showers and restrooms as well as concessions. Lifeguards are on duty in the summer. The Recreation Department located at the Rec Center on 10th Street offers programs including baseball, soccer, basketball and flag football by trained and experienced staff.

Gladstone, also known as the "Walleye Capital of the World", hosts a walleye tournament every summer. The Gladstone Harbor is busy in summer months with seasonal and transient boaters. The harbor has gas, restrooms, showers, picnic tables, wireless internet and a boat
